No. 7, C# Spring Melody
Etched between the rhythms of G,B and C#; Marigold, Poppy and Meridian Blue shine through in a whirling dance reminiscent of spring's recovery.
"Contend" exists in the respite of time.
It is by my body’s processing of the outside stimuli within the material world that informs the subject and form which my art object takes. In the case of this immediate affair, incoming sensory rhythms are constantly being hijacked by an excess build up of energies escaping from previously broken mental processes. In these moments where cognitive equilibrium has been compromised, I commence to find a place of asylum by constructing automatic paintings which unveil the destructive patterns that be, chronicling their journey outside of conventional rhythms of speech.
Through a mindful process of focused distribution of primary colored acrylics, light and water fuse to produce vivid expressions of light as it behaves within the concealed chambers of the brain. These tangled transitions of free-roaming energies are meditatively extracted and drained onto a blank frame of paper, bearing the linear transcription of their movements through space and time as captured at that moment.
In this symbiotic exchange between myself and this art object, an invisible war once charged by battles of conflicting rhythms over search for connection, is then visibly transformed into a beautifully diverse, free flowing symphony energized by its collection of nondescript patterns of melody. The voice of this art object declares a still union between rhythm and time, and in this moment of brevity, I as the artist find rest.
